ABOUT ME

Sophia was born in London to Sierra Leonean parentage and raised in Barbados. There, she achieved a Certificate in Business Studies at the Barbados Community College, but after landing a job at the renowned Praise Academy of Dance Barbados she found a new passion for the Arts and decided to pursue this as her career. She went on to star in The 'Hush' trilogy produced in Barbados then sought to further her acting career in her home city of London where she trained at WAC Arts. 

 

Since then she has had the privilege of being a part of many exciting projects and has played lead roles in Thriller Live!- West End Musical (Present till April 2020), Redbull Carnival Guide Music Video, A Concrete Jungle Full of Wild Cars and The Bubbly Black Girl who Sheds her Chameleon Skin; earning her an award nomination of 2018 Off West End Best Female. 

 

In addition, some of her credits from her work in theatre include;

The Grinning Man (West End Musical), Dirty Dancing (International Tour), 

Muscovado UK 'Slave trade' tour, Heartbreak Hotel (Immersive Theatre), Journey's Beyond (Physical Theatre), Garden of Hope (Musical Theatre), Speaklife (Musical Theatre) and  Little Shop of Horrors (Musical Theatre).

 

As a vocalist and in her music Sophia is a blend of Soca and Soulful Pop. Her music connects Caribbean grooves with funk-inspired rhythms entwined in a fresh and earthy Soul sound.

In 2018 Sophia founded Zaiah Arts Ltd a Health and Wellness brand that fuses West-Indian Culture with Well-being to promote holistic health lifestyles through the power of mindfulness, community and hip-shaking, calorie-burning fun!

In 2020 Sophia founded Manasseh Savannah School, offering performing arts coaching to Caribbean artists.
